Monday Sweater Clinic (4 part workshop)

Learn all about top-down garment knitting and feel confident to make your very own sweater. Starting from the top means you can knit in the round, try on as you go, and there’s no sewing up at the end! 

Across four sessions, we’ll cover all the key elements of top-down garment knitting: getting started, knitting in the round, yoke increases and separating for sleeves. And you’ll make your very own Monday Sweater by PetiteKnit, guided by our teacher Chris, to ensure you create a garment you wear and love. You’ll have time between classes to work on your Monday Sweater, before coming back together to share your progress. So if you’ve been keen to step into the world of garment knitting, or you’ve knit lots of garments but just never top-down, then this class is for you!

This class is suitable for anyone with base-level knitting skills (knit, purl, cast on).

Action Required:

• Students need to purchase their own copy of the Monday Sweater pattern by PetiteKnit (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/monday-sweater-2) 
• Students need to bring their own supplies, including sufficient yarn for the pattern and the corresponding needles (as outlined in the pattern)
• Prior to the first class, students should knit (and block) a swatch (approx. 10cm x 10cm). This will be used in the first class to discuss gauge, sizing and needle selection.
