Pattern: Lauro Sweater by Minimi Knit Design
Make the delightful Lauro Sweater in your choice of yarn, learning the skills of lace knitting as you go.
Across four sessions, you’ll create your own Lauro Sweater by the designer Minimi Knit Design, guided by our teacher Chris to ensure you create a garment you’ll love. The Lauro Sweater is a lovely, short-sleeved top with a lace detail running down the yoke and sides of the sweater. It would work beautifully in a range of yarn options and combinations.
We’ll cover all the core elements of the Lauro Sweater pattern, including top-down construction, lace knitting, working from charts, increasing and decreasing in pattern and finishing techniques. You’ll have time between classes to work on your Lauro Sweater before coming back together to share your progress and cover everything needed to complete a garment you’ll wear and love.
This class is suitable for anyone with confident core knitting skills (knit, purl, cast on). All special techniques will be covered in class.
Action Required:
- Students need to purchase their own copy of the Lauro Sweater pattern by Minimi Knit Designs  (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lauro-sweater)
- Students need to bring their own supplies, including sufficient yarn for the pattern and the corresponding needles (as outlined in the pattern)
- Prior to the first class, students should knit (and block) a swatch (approx. 10cm x 10cm). This will be used in the first class to discuss gauge, sizing and needle selection.Â
