Common Thread is the debut pattern book by Rui Yamamuro, Japanese designer based in Paris. The title plays on the phrase "common thread," which refers to a shared characteristic or underlying theme. In knitting, literal thread brings our craft to life. This thread also symbolizes the author’s desire to connect people and the handcrafts from the past to those of the future, all through a single thread. This book features 12 versatile patterns to enjoy throughout the year, including sweaters, cardigans, and skirts. Drawing on her background in garment construction, Rui combines a refined structural beauty with comfortable designs inspired by daily life in Paris. We invite you to pick up your needles and craft these pieces with your own hands.
