Rib (k5, p5) on a 5.5mm needle: 10cm = 15sts, 10cm = 22 rows
Fern pattern on a 6.5mm needle: 10cm = 14 sts, 10cm = 21 rows
1 repeat of fern pattern: 10sts = 16 rows

The vest is worked from the bottom up with a V-neck. Neck and armhole edges are finished with rib, which is bound off using the italian bind-off technique.
